Bora Da Lovlies! I’m thrilled to share this gorgeous wedding film today courtesy of Steve Ratcliffe Films. If you love Rugby & cycling, you’ll certainly recognise this couple. George North and former Olympic cyclist Becky James tied the knot last June. They held their beautiful wedding at Glanusk Estate in Crickhowell.
If you are looking for some inspiration today and yet to choose your wedding venue then lets hand you over to Steve. This truly is one very special tipi wedding of two very inspirational people.
“Becky booked me after seeing her fellow cyclists wedding Dani (King) Rowe MBE film. Becky was a bridesmaid at that wedding and also made the stunning cake @bakedbybecks.
I’ve been lucky enough to film many well known cyclists weddings and Welsh rugby players so have bumped into the couple at previous weddings.
My first time filming at Glanusk Estate and it was so impressive. There is so much space to work with, you really are spoilt for choice for filming locations.
The beautiful ceremony featured stirring welsh songs from the choir and singer which made your hair stand on end with pride.
If a groom speaks about his wife like George speaks about Becky, then you know you have found the right one. George is such a fun person to be around, cracking jokes all day long and making people laugh. But when it came to speaking about his love for Becky his sincerity was all the more poignant, I may have had a little tear when he finished :)
During the couple shoot we were lucky to catch them with Darcy and Lola ( their gorgeous dachshunds ) who followed them everywhere. I managed to capture a shot I’ve never been able to get in over 10 years of filming weddings. A shot with the couple under a rainbow, it was so magical and I’ll never forget it.
The night was an event not just a party, Tux Fizz are one of the best bands around and had the dance floor full until the early hours.
It was an honour to film their wedding, one I get from all couples who trust me to capture their day.”

Thanks Steve! I especially adored the part where the Becky’s father talked about the Welsh word Anyan. Which translates as “its what you’re made of, your soul, your morality and how you connect with other people. Its because they have the same Anyan, they really are the perfect match for each other.” Such beautiful words.
Glanusk Estate is very special to us too, it’s been home to our wonderful wedding festival Cwtchfest for a few years. If you’re interested in seeing this stunning venue with your own eyes and also meeting Steve along with a host of other amazing suppliers. Then do join us for Cwtchfest 2020 on Sunday 5th April. Tickets available here.
